This organisation and site was created by myself (Robin Manser) in 1999. The site, launched in September last year (2001) has subsequently had over 32,000 hits, to date. E-mails are received at a rate of 100-150 per day from almost every country in the world.
Although primarily a football violence/hooliganism research site it also covers many other academically related subjects such as media amplification/sensationalism, racism, references, glossaries, theorists, theories etc.
Many individuals and organisations from around the world have affiliated and offered their expertise to the organisation.
The site is a FREE site and is aimed at anyone, but naturally appeals to students and academics from fields such as psychology, sociology, philosophy, cultural studies, law, history, humanities and media studies.
I would like to think that with your help, we can make this site the one to be competed with for its excellent resources and information. There is a long way to go.
For anyone trying to make a name for themselves in this field, this is an ideal starting place. You don't need to be an established academic. We need advisors and people who will take an interest in our work, editing etc.
I will need your:
Name
E-mail address
URL (if appropriate)
Date of Birth
Location
Reason/s for getting involved
Thanks for your attention!
